Welcome to the Magical Mess of the EYFS - the home for everyone who is used to scratching their head and wondering "is that glitter or do I have nits?"
As a latecomer to the world of teaching I have been able to experience a different career before choosing to retrain back in 2012. This has given me a wonderful perspective and appreciation of how lucky and privileged I am to work with children and families as they go through the challenging but wonderful early years. I am also a teacher with ADHD, which helps me to understand how some of the children in my class see the world.
I know that all of you reading this share the joy of the Early Years (exhaustion, laughter, tears, frustrations, and all) and I know how damn hard you work every day to keep on going with love in your heart and a smile on your face, no matter what challenges your day throws at you.
Hopefully you will find something in my Early Years Blog to help or amuse you, whether it is a resource, an article, a distraction or some inspiration.
On the Quests and Questions Blog you will also find some inspiration if you are already teaching Philosophy for Children or are thinking of starting it soon.
Have a wonderful day in our magical mess of the EYFS
