Dulcinea is an Early Years teacher and designated teacher for looked after children, based at a school in Lancashire and has degrees in Law and English, Qualified Teacher Status and Early Years Professional Status. She is currently preparing to start an MA in Education with a focus on inclusive learning and metacognition.
Dulcinea was trained in Philosophy for Children by Gina Parker (of Little Chatters) and Richard Gore and is now a Level 2B P4C practitioner. She is currently working towards running her pre-school class with an entirely P4C based approach. Dulcinea is an Associate of DialogueWorks and an accredited Thinking Moves trainer. She wrote the book Beautiful Thinking, a guide to metacognition through Thinking Moves from birth to five, and can be found in many places in print and online. Dulcinea is now working on publishing a series of Philosophy for Children metacognition lessons for 3-5 year olds for DialogueWorks,
Dulcinea has previously been published by independent publishers Wyvern Press, Bridge House Publishing and Knowonder Magazine as well as being a short story preliminary judge for Bridge House Publishing and the BBC Radio 2 500 words competition. She now writes the Early Years blog Magical Mess which explores the worlds of Early Years teaching, child development and the use of a Philosophy for Children approach in teaching and parenting children from birth to age 5 and beyond.
